A lifelong of accumulated possessions completely fills a 4000 sq ft house. Every nook and cranny in this residence has a bookshelf, curio, cabinet or other storage area. Every furniture piece has multiple items in or on it. It can be very disconcerting to think about where all of these treasured items will go. Will they just be discarded? This can be a burdensome thought for the senior downsizing.
Interiors for Seniors strives to bring piece of mind during a downsize and relocation. Every effort is made to respectfully treat the belongings of our clients as if they were our loved ones own things. Missy Donaghy, owner operator, does an initial consultation at the beginning of the moving process. During this time she systematically goes through the different areas of the house making careful notes of important furniture pieces that are to be passed down to family members. Any furniture not passed down to family or friends is evaluated to see if there is enough available to run an Estate Sale.
What is done with the remaining household items? This is determined by the resident. One option is to donate the items to a local designated charity such as Goodwill, Mustard Seed or Am-Vets. There have been occasions where items are donated to religious organizations, Boys and Girls clubs or Habitat for Humanity. Anything left in the house that is not reusable or recyclable is disposed. Every effort is made to respectfully treat the belongings of our clients as if they were our loved ones own
