TUITION-FREE CLASSES THROUGH UCF & SENIOR CITIZENS AUDIT REQUEST

Are you a lifelong learner? Do you dream of going back to school? Well, dream no more. Now you can act of those dreams at the University of Central Florida (UCF) through their senior citizens audit program. Their website states that, “Persons 60 years of age or older who have been Florida residents for at least one year as of the first day of classes may enroll tuition free as audit students (receiving no academic grade or credit).”  It is also noted that registration for the audit classes is on a space-available basis indicating that is there is no guarantee of space merely because you have applied

WHAT IS A LIFELONG LEARNER?

A lifelong learner is generally a person who is a self-starter. One who is capable of monitoring their own progress and capable of completing a task, regardless of whether someone is watching over their shoulder. These characteristics translate into later years where you will find those persons who continue to expand their knowledge base outside of the formal education arena. In short, a lifelong learner’s quest for knowledge is both lasting and continuing throughout one’s lifetime.

HOW SENIORS MAY APPLY FOR AUDIT CLASSES AT UCF

Don’t you like the sound of the word free. It gets your energy flowing just thinking about it. However, many people are leery when they hear that something is free. Well, in this case, have no worries, this is a bonafide sure thing. Tuition is Free for Seniors.

FIRST THINGS FIRST:

In order to begin your process of enrollment for classes, you must complete an application form. You can find this by following this link to the UCF website:

This form should be submitted to the Undergraduate Admissions or Graduate Studies office as appropriate.

Next, you will need to fill out a registration form found at this link: [https://registrar.ucf.edu/wp-content/uploads/sites/28/2018/04/audit_registration_form1.pdf]

Part of this registration form requires that you obtain the instructor's signature for each course which you intend to audit.

This registration form also instructs you to “not register for courses which you will audit prior to the prescribed time; audit requests for students who register prior to this registration time will be denied. Consult the "Academic Calendar" within the appropriate term's on-line Web Enrollment Guide for the Audit

Registration day and time.”
