You have just recently moved into your new home and your friends are anxious to see your new place. Likewise, you are wanting them to see it as well. The fact remains, however, that you are tired from the whole relocation process. What to do?
WHEN TO HAVE A HOUSEWARMING PARTY AFTER YOU MOVE
First of all, do not do any entertaining until you are absolutely ready. You are the master of your destiny (in this case anyway, LOL). Let all your friends and family know that you would very much like to have them over; that you are in the process of planning a time; and that you will let be contacting them after your new place is presentable. In the meantime, be sure that you give yourself time and space to relax so that you do not become overwhelmed in the process.
HOW TO HAVE A HOUSEWARMING PARTY AFTER YOU MOVE
Though we are in the midst of the Covid-19\social distancing mandate, there are ways you can still have a party and still be safe. Experts have suggested you should keep your gathering small, no more than about 10 persons total who are in actual physical attendance. Of course, follow your state and county mandates for this.
The key idea here is that you can merge an actual small physical gathering with a virtual party. This way, you can have a few guests who feel comfortable in gatherings. For those who either are unable to attend (such as those who have comprising health issues (shut-ins, disabled or elderly, or else those who a long-distance away.)
Plan your gathering to take place outside (there are less risks involved than if you are inside), with your seating six-feet apart. Of course, each person should bring their own mask, but just in case and as a thank you for their housewarming gifts and attendance, you could purchase them a cute mask as a thank you gift.
Set up a hand-sanitizing station with plenty of hand sanitizer, soap and water, paper towels and clean cloth towels (if you choose).
Set up a big screen TV that you can cast your computer to. Previous to your party, you can create a virtual tour of your new home. You can take a 360-degree, panoramic view of each of your new decorated rooms, taking close ups or else angled shots of particular areas you wish to showcase. If you do not have access to a camera to make a fancy virtual tour, you can always take screen-shots of your home and create a power-point presentation that can either automatically change or change as you instruct.
This video will be the focal point of your party and will not require that anyone enter your home, save to use the restroom.
WHAT TO SERVE AT A HOUSEWARMING PARTY AFTER YOUR MOVE
It has been suggested for dinner gatherings during this time, that you suggest to each invitee that they bring their own side dishes. You can provide the meat to grill (including a small amount of protein-based grilled patties) and let each guest know ahead of time what you will be offering You might choose to let them know they are free to bring their own choices to place on the grill if what you serve doesn’t fit into their diet.
As at almost any given outdoor gathering, be sure that all of your dinnerware is disposable.
