This is a good time to break out all the hobbies and old movies you have been putting off during your more active times.
If you look in your cabinets, I’m sure you will find some sort of art supplies, even if it’s pens, pencils & papers. Many of us will find a nice collection of adult coloring book and colored pencil stored away.
Try getting out of doors and doing some gardening, the fresh air will be helpful. If you don’t want to go out in the sun then try bringing a few plants in doors to nurture. It will be fun and the greenery will be good for your atmosphere as well.
Dust off the books (that could be a project in and of itself). LOL. But all kidding aside, dust off a few books to read. There’s a great app called Goodreads that can help you to this end. Goodreads will assist you in setting a goal for reading. Say you want to give yourself a goal of reading 20 books by the end of this year (2020). You set your goal, then go about your personal bookshelf and find the books you desire to put on the list. Enter those titles into search within Goodreads and the app will locate it through their vast library.
You can also browse for books to purchase on their website and load your list in that manner. There you will be prompted to either purchase a copy of the book in hard copy format or else digital (for places like Kindle, or even Audible.com)
I love a good movie. There are so many to choose from. Now, since the coronavirus has shut down our movie theatres, viewing a movie from home has become our only option. There are some fun ones to watch. Why not take advantage of the free trial offers for streaming services to see what’s out there.
Hallmark Channel gives you a free 7-day trial.
Lifetime Channel gives you a free 7-day trial.
Netflix is advertising a free one-month trial.
Here is a list of some series of movies I thought might be fun to watch. You may even have some of these in your own personal collection:
Indian Jones series
Star Wars series
Humphrey Bogart films
Alfred Hitchcock film
Mission Impossible series
James Bond series
The Godfather series
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
Batman series (Dark Knight)
Die Hard series
Lord of the Rings series
DON’T FORGET YOU CAN ALWAYS SKYPE.
With all the time we will have to be apart from our loved ones, there is a positive side. We live in an age when we can “dial up” our family right on our computers and have a face to face conversation with them. Who would have thought that the Jetsons technology would become real in our day and age.
